Staff Spotlight: Chachi Sharp
Chachi Sharp is originally from Chicago, Illinois and moved to east Tennessee nearly four years ago to be closer to friends and family living in this area. Before starting his career at the co-op he had a long span working in fast food and had also been employed as a line cook in several establishments. Chachi also spent several years as a professional furniture mover.

Chachi became part of the Three Rivers Market staff in October 2022 and states, “I find the co-op to be such a nice place to work; the people are friendly and this place gives you a lot of creative freedom when it comes to the Produce Department.”

His work goals are to keep pushing to keep sales high and to bring in more new, fun, creative ways to brighten up the Produce Department. Chachi says that he wants to keep pushing himself to be the best worker he can be and to help the co-op improve in any way he can.

Some of Chachi’s extracurricular interests are video games, reading, fishing, and spending time with friends.

May is National Bike Month
According to The League of American Bicyclists: May is National Bike Month, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.Did you know that Three Rivers Market’s area is great for biking? North Central Street features bike lanes and we have 6 secure bike racks (made from 96% recycled materials) provided near the entry to the store for the convenience of our customers.

Check out a Member-Owned bike shop in our Rooster Roster!

MAY NOURISHING CHANGE

In May we will be collecting change to support arts education.

Christenberry Elementary PTA works to make every student’s potential a reality, through community and family engagement, advocacy, and supporting teachers.

Arts education funding is critically low statewide. Christenberry Elementary PTA seeks to improve the educational outcomes for students in their low-income community using integrated arts initiatives with demonstrated benefits for student health, engagement, and educational outcomes.

Objective: To raise $7,000 to support Christenberry Elementary PTA

Funds raised will go to provide local elementary students with nourishing arts integration initiatives.

Spring is a time for new growth after the dormancy of winter. Such was the collective expectation of TRM’s Board of Directors at this year’s spring retreat. The retreat was a two-part series with the first portion being a remote session facilitated by Thane Joyal of Columinate (a national consulting co-op). The Board hoped to discuss long-term goals and strategic direction for the future of TRM during the retreat.

The agenda for the regular monthly meetings is posted at least one week before each meeting on the co-op’s website.

To request that an item be considered for the Board’s agenda, members can either email the request to board@threeriversmarket.coop or leave a note for the Chair at the Member & Customer Services Desk at the store. Requests must be dated and include name, member number, phone number, email address, or other reliable contact information needed for follow-up. The deadline for submitting items to the Chair for consideration is four weeks prior to the scheduled meeting.
