This January our Wellness Department is inviting you to “rise and shine” in the New Year with a department-wide Buy One Get One free sale!

This once a year sale will run through Tuesday, January 20 so be sure to stop by and stock up!

It’s a New Year and many of us in the Three Rivers Market community are prioritizing our health, making resolutions, and sticking to them!

Speaking of which, have you heard the buzz surrounding sea moss?

The popularity of this product has really skyrocketed in the past few years and with good reason.

Sea moss is a nutrient-rich seaweed (red algae) that contains vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, fiber and antioxidants.

Some of the nutrients found in sea moss include iodine, calcium, potassium, and magnesium, as well as vitamins A, C, K, and B vitamins.

In short, sea moss is considered a superfood that people consume for the nutrition and to address various health concerns.

Three Rivers Market provides sea moss gels from True Sea Moss as well as extract and gummies from Mary Ruth’s.

JANUARY’S
NOURISHING CHANGE

In January we will be collecting change to help support The Fulton High School Arboretum and Garden.

The Fulton High School Arboretum, native garden, and vegetable garden is dedicated to teaching students biodiversity and environmental stewardship.

The mission of the Fulton High School Arboretum and Garden is to educate students about sustainable gardening practices by providing hands-on learning experiences to showcase native plants, restore habitat, and educate visitors about conservation and the environment.

The Arboretum and Garden supports the local ecosystem, reduces pollution and conserves resources. It benefits students and their families by providing fresh, organic vegetables. It also provides exercise and emotional well-being for those who work in the garden. And it provides the community with a relaxing, peaceful area for walking.

It consists of an area about 400-500 square feet for growing vegetables surrounded by perennials, six apple trees, two pear trees, and two rows of blackberry vines that are about 80 feet long. There is also an outdoor classroom with a concrete pad covered with a shade sail and 6 picnic tables. On the front entrance of the building are two flower beds. The entire campus is surrounded by 130 mature trees and is certified as a Level 1 arboretum.

Objective:

To raise $7,000. These funds will be used to increase the diversity of native plants and create signage about pollinator gardens and monarch waystations.

The Agenda for the regular monthly meetings is posted at least one week before each meeting on the co-op’s website.

To request that an item be considered for the Board’s agenda, members can either email the request to
board@threeriversmarket.coop or leave a note for the Chair at the Member & Customer Services Desk at the store. Requests must be dated and include name, member number, phone number, email address, or other reliable contact information needed for follow-up.

The deadline for submitting items to the Chair for consideration is four weeks prior to the scheduled meeting.
