It is November and the holiday season is fast approaching!  With the days getting shorter and the temperatures getting cooler, it’s the time of year that people tend to cook and bake more. Maybe this tendency is the remnant of a survival mechanism that helped us to get through the leaner months of winter.

Regardless, it is a great time to throw together a big comforting pot of soup or chili or to make that decadent fudgy brownie recipe that you saw online but haven’t gotten around to making yet.

Less screen time. More time creating. Does this resolution sound familiar? If so, Three Rivers Market has a well-stocked bulk herb and spice section with 142 different items that can inspire you to put together that recipe that grabbed your attention (and good intentions) but fell through the cracks of constant content consumption.

It’s time to put the phone down. It’s time to slow down and to engage with a primal survival instinct. Now is the time to create and to consume something truly nourishing. Bon appétit!

NOVEMBER’S
NOURISHING CHANGE

In November we will be collecting change to help support The Farmer’s Land Trust.

The Farmers Land Trust helps put the ownership of farmland in local communities, securing it for regenerative farmers, including right here in Knoxville.

The Farmers Land Trust works to protect farmland from development and give it to farmers who are using regenerative and organic practices to grow food for their local communities.

This work benefits the environment by focusing on sustainable and ecological farming, and also the community by ensuring there is more access to nourishing, local food. The work helps to ensure that farming businesses are more economically viable and that people are better fed, which supports economic and personal health.

Objective:

To raise $7,000. These funds will be a crucial component of The Farmers Land Trust’s general operating expenses, helping to support their project in Knoxville, the East Tennessee community, Housing, and Farmland Commons.

Annual Meeting: The Board would like to invite our co-owners to the Annual Meeting on Thursday, December 4th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church (1101 N. Broadway).

There will be food, a presentation, and time for discussion. We hope that you will join us! Please look out for an invitation with registration form via email soon.

The Agenda for the regular monthly meetings is posted at least one week before each meeting on the
co-op’s website.

To request that an item be considered for the Board’s agenda, members can either email the request to
board@threeriversmarket.coop or leave a note for the Chair at the Member & Customer Services Desk at the store. Requests must be dated and include name, member number, phone number, email address, or other reliable contact information needed for follow-up.

The deadline for submitting items to the Chair for consideration is four weeks prior to the scheduled meeting.
